In a crowded music space where SoundCloud rappers and YouTubers are making noise, Kway breaks the mold by elevating the cultural conversation that many are talking about, but few can address.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Mark Aquaye is a creatively new humble voice in the music scene. Kway, a first-generation Ghanaian American, visionary, and storyteller, loves to inspire and motivate others through his music, art, and activism. His debut album Malcolm Next, which looks at the complexities of the black experience in America, is his creative expression, a journey of self-reflection & tribute to the community.
Kway’s music takes listeners on a journey of life lessons through sounds influenced by the likes of Nas, Kendrick, and J. Cole.
The musician discovered his love of writing after taking a memoir writing course that inspired his creative beginnings in poetry. His writing talent soon blossomed into a full-length rap album and a deeper love of music.
