About Kwame Adu

Kwame Adu (FKA Brandon Masenko) is a rapper, producer, and artist, but above all a human being working from within the confines of his own consciousness to find inner peace and outer understanding.
Rapping since a young age, Kwame’s music draws influence from a wide range of sources from anime and Japanese culture, to video games and ancient mythology, as well as his Ghanaian roots. Kwame was born and raised in Middlesex County, New Jersey before moving to a boarding school in Pennsylvania . Since dropping out of college and moving to LA to develop their craft, Kwame has been busy connected with like minded creatives, developing his sound, and carving out a lane for himself in the hip hop scene.
Musically, Kwame’s production is synthetic, eclectic and highly rhythmic, evoking sonics associated with video game soundtracks. Inspired by the surreal and exaggerated cinematics of cartoons and anime, Kwame’s unique brand of rap is aggressive and absolute, injecting the listener with the raw essence of hip hop with little regard to commercial viability. Juxtaposed onto this high energy musical experience is a sensitive and spiritual perspective through which Kwame analyzes the uncertain nature of reality and leaves profound thoughts in the listener’s head long after the music has stopped. Part narrative, part inspiration, and part comedy, Kwame Adu’s lyrical ability is as therapeutic as it is entertaining.
