kurai is a 19 year old artist and producer from Whangārei, New Zealand and the co-founder of the genre māoricore. He has produced for artists such as Ways, Yungster Jack and EXODUS1900. He is often associated with fellow New Zealand artist katai who he began making music with in 2018 after meeting him on Xbox.

Formerly known as guccidelles during his 2016-17 kawaii/anime plugg era, his sound has continued to evolve and now has moved on from his novagang era of music. kurai is a member of the soundcloud collective 7serene and has left NovaGang in 2021.
