About Kumiho

The sound of Kumiho & her band is an elixir of retro organic sounds and psychedelic electronic instrumentation. Her premiere album Nine Tales is a sampler of her style range – from R&B to Electro-Swing all united by the smokey-honey vocals of Kumiho.

Drawing inspiration from legendary female vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan along with modern day bands like Caravan Palace and Parov Stelar, Kumiho takes the exciting and spontaneous nature of jazz and mixes it into the modern age.

Kumiho has teamed up with Sammy Legs as her executive producer and a variety of talented players for her songs and sets. Every live show is unique and features and element of jazz improvisation from instrumentalists. Kumiho is a seasoned performer and spices up each show with flapper and burlesque coreography to accent the band’s sizzling tunes. She brings a true modern prohibition party!
