About Kringkastingsorkesteret

KORK, or The Norwegian Radio Orchestra in English, is a state-owned symphonic orchestra to assist with televised, radio and streaming concerts for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK).

The orchestra was formed in 1946, and has orchestrated performances for Eurovision Song Contests, the Årets Spellemann music awards and the radio show Meloditimen, among other things.

In modern times, they have also played on many recordings by rock and pop bands, perhaps most famously with Norwegian metal titans Dimmu Borgir.
