About Komo

Komo (aka Komo-Lomo), London’s most active Afrobeat singer-songwriter & rapper. Born in Idimu, Lagos Nigeria, raised in Britain, Komo kickstarted his career with the release of his debut single ‘African Woman’ in 2013, which was organically adopted by many YouTubers and fitness devotee which saw it amass a million+ views across video platforms. Since then, the incredibly hardworking Komo has since gone on to perform at notable venues such as, but not limited to the prestigious Jazz Cafe Camden and Indigo at the O2 in London, as well as several worldwide performances in Germany, Switzerland, Nigeria, and other multiple UK venues, to say the least. His music is also regularly featured on popular curated Apple Music and Spotify editorial playlists.

Komo released his debut EP entitled ‘Vibe N Ting’ in 2018 after graduating from Middlesex University with an incredible 1st class degree in Music Business. The Afroswing EP went on to amass hundred thousands of streams overall and received support from London scenes most influential DJs such as DJ Target, DJ Ironik, DJ P Montana and constant airplay on popular UK radio stations such as BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, The Beat London, Pulse88, Westside Radio, and many more. Produced by Ayo Beatz, including co-production from Komo himself; as well as features from the multi-talented Mobo Awards nominee Silvastone on ‘Kill My Vibe’, and fast-rising East London rappers Tel Money & D Blanco on the street anthem ‘No Problem’.

Komo’s music has been recognised by the descendants of the founder of Afrobeat, the late great Fela Anikolapo Kuti. This led to his performance at the new ‘New Afrikan Shrine’ in 2019, followed by a co-headlining live performance at the first-ever Felabration UK later that year, which is one of the longest-standing, most attended and ground-breaking music festivals that celebrate the life and legacy of Fela Kuti. Fast forward to 2020, Komo delivers a historical grand performance at his first headline show in Lagos at ‘Kalakuta Museum (Republic)’, the very home and final resting place of the Afrobeat godfather Fela Kuti.

The once upon a time MTV ‘Bedroom Diaries’ TV personality has come a long way; accomplishing some astonishing highlights in 2019, with sync of his single, ‘Do The Most’ on an advert by the renowned brand Puma, including a headline show in Zurich and Berlin, to say the least. He keeps growing from strength to strength and he is only just getting started.
