Washington, D.C. native Knyves Escobar has always had a passion for creative self-expression. “It’s always been a part of me—I have my dad to thank for starting me out young; blasting Earth Wind & Fire and Tito Puente on weekend mornings and making sure I was playing instruments (cello) and singing.” She writes and produces her own music as a way to parse through and reflect on painful situations, but has found inspiration in being able to resonate with people who can relate to her own experiences.
