Emerging from the walks of Brooklyn, recording artist/songwriter KIU independently built his own movement and brand with his lyricism, versatility, and ability to mesh thought provoking verses with relaxed vocalized hooks.
Influenced by artists such as JAY-Z, Nipsey Hussle, Drake, and Kanye West (as well as the experiences he endured as a youngster growing up in Brooklyn and North Philadelphia), KIU began gradually recording songs in high school at the age of 16 which resulted into the development of his cadence and style. His debut effort, Winners Worry About Winning, arrived in late 2017. He gained a foundation through word of mouth and exposure from intermediate entertainment publications. In 2018 and 2019, his career really picked up with cuts like Bubblegum Wish and Visa which were among his most popular recordings to that point. In November 2019, KIU released Becoming Legendary, a second effort of his raw raps and diverse production.
