Around 2014, alternative musician collective Kings Kaleidoscope announced that they would be leaving the church that they got their start with, Mars Hill. It was through the church that the band would publish one 7-track project and two EPs through BEC Recordings. When lead pastor Mark Driscoll announced his resignation in 2014 after being accused of poor church leadership and discipline, Kings Kaleidoscope, as well as other Mars Hill bands, left and either joined another label or went independent. In 2018, the band decided to separate their Mars Hill music from their other music using the tag Kings (MHM).
