About KillaMac

Bryan Baldwin, better known as KillaMac (sometimes stylized as Killamac) or Lil' Killa, is a rapper hailing from Memphis, Tennessee and one of the four core members of the North Memphis-based rap group Skimask Troopaz—a sub-unit of the larger collective known as the Gimisum Family. He’s closely affiliated with Kingpin Skinny Pimp and has been a consistent presence across numerous releases by Skinny and the Gimisum Family since their early grind in the ‘90s.

Killamac’s first known appearance dates back to around 1993–1994, featuring on the Gimisum Family’s debut group album Tha Gimisum Dungeon. From that point on, he could be heard all over the scene—guesting on Skinny’s records, Gimisum-affiliated tapes, and even popping up on projects by other Memphis underground staples like Criminal Manne and Mista' Dre from the legendary Doom Shop Productions camp.

Alongside RedRum, So Serious, and Mista Playa Dre, Killamac helped form the Skimask Troopaz. They dropped their first self-titled project Skimask Troopaz in 1996, then followed it up with a second offering in 1997—their compilation album, Let’s Go To War—fully produced by Mista' Dre from the Doom Shop/Paper Chase Productions camp, the album only features three out of the four original Skimask Troopaz members—Mista Playa Dre doesn’t appear on any track here and was only featured later on the 1998 Doomshop/PCP Compilations release that followed this project.

Fast-forward to 2023—after a long hiatus, Killamac finally returned to the mic, appearing alongside Kingpin Skinny Pimp on REKUDO’s single “Da Shit.” Both delivered that raw Memphis energy like they never skipped a beat.

Then in 2024—on September 11 to be exact—Killamac dropped his surprise solo album, Last Man Standing, with zero promo or rollout. Just pure heat. The 7-track project radiates confidence from front to back, like Killamac had never stepped away from the mic. Skinny Pimp played a role in co-producing the project and pulls up as a featured guest on three out of the total seven tracks, while iconic Frayser-based underground legend DJ Sound stepped in to lace one of the tracks—“Killa X”—bringing that dark, grimy, and menacing signature Memphis sound he’s known for.
