Kevin Darling, better known by his stage name Kevmo, is a Houston based producer and rapper. He started making music in 2016, releasing his debut single “Where to Go”.
His following consists almost entirely in the Christian Hip-Hop scene, where he made a name for himself by producing for Joey Vantes, Swoope and many other artists. He self-produces most of his music, and has garnered 16,000 monthly listeners on Spotify as of March 2019.
In July 2018, he announced that even though he was a Christian, he would be leaving the ‘CHH’ label, saying he felt too “boxed in” by the standards of CHH. Though he is a Christian, he has released a song featuring rapper Futuristic called “Make a Wish” , containing explicit lyrics.
His most popular song to date is “Gucci”, featuring fellow CHH artists Joey Vantes and Kishon.
Some of the more popular songs that he’s produced are Joey Vantes' “Push”, “Right Now”, and Swoope’s “All The Time”.
On January 11, 2019, Kevmo announced on his Twitter that he would be retiring after releasing a few more singles. The tweet reads:
These past few years, music was my life. God brought blessings my way, and I learned soooo much and met so many great people. Blessed for the experiences. Now onto better things in life. May drop a couple of songs I have finished, but then Kevmo will be retired. Love you guys!
