KEVIN PENKIN
The Australian composer, born in 1992, has contributed to the video game, anime and short film industry. Penkin has aided in crafting the soundtracks for Norn9, Defender’s Quest II, Play Lunch, and The Adventures of Chipman and Biscuit Boy. While also collaborating with Final Fantasy composer, Nobuo Uematsu, on Juzaengi: Engetsu Sangokuden.
Penkin is famously renowned for his soundtrack in the award-winning anime Made in Abyss, released in 2017 to critical acclaim for the story, art and, of course, the music.
His style has its roots in the video game industry. During an interview in 2012, he praises the use of electronic synths and acoustic together in the piece Phendrana Drifts found in the Nintendo game Metroid Prime on the Gamecube.
