About Kesen
Kesen was born in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and became interested in music at a young age. His school years were spent in various choir activities. He participated in two international-exchange trips with the Mount Pearl Show Choir in Japan and Europe and annual performances in the group’s local production, “Etcetera.”
After graduating high school, Kesen moved to Japan to pursue post-secondary education in the form of a two-year immersive language program while working and immersing himself in the Japanese cities of both Tokyo and Hakuba.
During his last years in Taiwan, Kesen again fell back into music after a dramatic close to a long-term relationship. With his first studio purchase being a Rode K2, Kesen started writing lyrics that eventually turned into TW, an EP. After a close call with addiction, he returned home to Canada to complete Masters education. Years later, Kesen is in the final stages of recording for his first full-length album, “I Live For Me.”
While admittedly not fluent in any of the three spoken languages he speaks, Kesen incorporates Mandarin and Japanese into some recordings, and is working towards a full Japanese release after completing his first album.
