In a world where the existence of “Quality R&B” is constantly questioned, Kenyon Dixon reminds us that it is most definitely alive and thriving. As one of this generation’s emerging Songwriters, working with a range of artists from R&B Legends Mary J Blige, Tyrese & Ginuwine to Pop Superstar Justin Timberlake, Dixon has still managed to reserve some ink for his own catalogue of timeless music.
Even in 2020’s global pandemic, Dixon was dedicated to propelling R&B forward. With his carefully curated virtual concert series Friday Night Live, each week, R&B Kenny reinvented his artistry and expanded his fan base in the midst of the “new normal”. In May of 2020, Dixon released his Switch EP, followed by The Jungle Studio Sessions visual series, which garnered a tremendous amount of support from some of the industry elite, including vocal legend Kim Burrell, R&B’s “Vocal Bible” Brandy Norwood, in addition to landing another feature on The Joe Budden Podcast.
As an extension of his 2020 self-written and co-produced EP, Switch, Dixon’s forthcoming LP, Expectations, is expected to exceed them all. With collaborations from artists like V. Bozeman, Avery Wilson, and Alex Isley, we anticipate this project to add to the list of many reasons why his newly adapted moniker “R&B Kenny” is well deserved.
As conversations swirl with doubt about the current state of Music, Kenyon Dixon possesses the unquestionable qualities to reassure us that “good” Music is here to stay.
