Indonesian rock band from Jakarta, Kelompok Penerbang Roket or KPR was formed at the end of 2011 and was first performed in November 2013. The band consisted of John Paul Patton (Bass / Lead Vocal), Rey Marshall (Guitar / Back Vocal) and Igusti Vikranta (Drum / Backing Vocal).

Kelompok Penerbang Roket or often called KPR took it’s name from the song that popularized Duo Kribo titled ‘Mencarter Roket’ is not bothered to form the image, they talk through the music as a work. Try listening to their song titled ‘Mati Muda’ or ‘Dimana Merdeka’, you will know their ideals about music with alcohol, sweat, protest, and distortion.

Kelompok Penerbang Roket played rock music with the approach of the past era, precisely decades' 70s. If what comes to mind is another band that tries too hard to become Led Zeppelin and then fails shamefully, then you are seriously mistaken. Kelompok Penerbang Roket took inspiration from the country itself, carrying rock fury, not infrequently with maximum acceleration, owed to antique Indonesian music groups like AKA, Duo Kribo, to Panbers.

In their genre Kelompok Penerbang Roket is Rock with the influence of music Era 60s and 70s such as Black Sabbath, Duo Kribo, Aka, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and other musicians in that era. The first single to be released titled “Mati Muda” in April was out in Narcotics Class 2 Cipinang.

John Paul Patton aka Coki, Rey Marshall, and Viki Vikranta are now the attention of many peoples. Through the collective identity of Kelompok Penerbang Roket, this energy-intensive trio has launched two of their albums in 2015 with the headline “Teriakan Bocah” and “HAAI”, uniquely their two albums released in the same year.
Kelompok Penerbang released a new album just two months after the release of the debut album. Moreover, the album is an eight song cover of a legendary band.That’s what Indonesian rock bands do now

The trio took advantage of a professional recording album contract with Sinjitos Records obtained after winning Jack Daniel’s music contest. To honor the legends of Indonesian rock band, as well as one of their idols, Panbers.

With produced by Joseph Saryuf and additional guitarist Dhany Agus Sohanza as a replacement for the original guitarist Rey Marshall who was languishing in drug rehab when the recording was done, Kelompok Penerbang Roket was able to make Panbers songs as their own. Many arrangements are re-edited without removing the core of the song, resulting in a clash of power between classical and modern rock that produced a ferocious outburst.

As a vocalist as well as bassist, Coki screams loudly while constantly pouring bass booms, while guitarist Rey often throws dense voices of poison poison, and drummer Viki landed a blow after blow to the drum with tight and full of energy.
