About Kelly Jones

Kelly Jones is a Welsh singer, guitarist and songwriter who is best known as the frontman of popular rock band Stereophonics. After forming the band with childhood friends Richard Jones and Stuart Cable, Jones’s compositions have gained considerable commercial success, yielding six #1 albums and, in 2005, one #1 single: “Dakota”. Jones has also pursued a number of solo projects; in 2007, he released his first solo album, Only the Names Have Been Changed, which he recorded at the same time as Stereophonics' Pull the Pin.

Jones is well-known for his gravely singing voice, which has been compared to that of Rod Stuart. His singing ability and his lyrics have attracted both praise and criticism. He has also had a troubled relationship with the media after criticising Radiohead’s Thom Yorke for being a “miserable twat” and being accused of reacting badly to criticism.
