About Keith Flint

Keith Charles Flint (Redbridge, London, September 17, 1969 – Great Dunmow, Essex, March 4, 2019) was an English singer, musician and dancer, crazy about music and motorcycles and best known for his collaboration with hard dance and electronic group The Prodigy.

As a teenager, he decided to attend the Boswells School of Performing Arts to make it in the entertainment universe: he started as a dancer and he usually performed in the local rave club “The Barn” in Braintree: there, he met the producer Liam Howlett and eventually decided to team up with him and the friends Keith “Maxim” Palmer and Leeroy Thornill to constitute The Prodigy, a group which was destined to be a pioneer of a whole revolutionary movement in British and international music.

Initially, Flint was simply involved in the band as a dancer, but in 1996 his mates let him try to do some vocal parts on their upcoming album: The Fat of the Land. Thanks to Flint’s new bizarre punk look and to his aggressive performances on several tracks, The Prodigy succeeded in reaching the number 1 of UK Chart twice, with “Firestarter” and “Breathe”, and selling millions of copies of the LP, becoming an icon of modern electronic music all over the world.

Since that moment, Flint became the official vocalist of the group, together with Maxim, and left his mark on many other songs (except of Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, totally sung by host vocalists).

He also experimented a lot by himself, and in 2003 he formed an alternative rock band) by his name, even though they never managed to release an official full-length album.

On March 4, 2019, Mr. Flint was found dead inside his home in Great Dunmow, Essex, apparently after he has taken his own life during the previous weekend: this tragic event caused a significant loss for the group and the international electronic scenario, as he has been one of the most notable symbols of anti-conformism and young rebellion during the late ‘90s.

I’m a firestarter, twisted firestarter!
