Born in 2001, Terazono Keita (JPN: 寺園佳汰) is a Japanese rapper and songwriter. He is active in South Korea using his first name, KEITA (KOR: 케이타), as a member of Rain Company’s Ciipher, and later as the leader of Jellyfish Entertainment project group EVNNE.
KEITA was first introduced to the Korean music scene through YG Treasure Box in 2018, a TV series by YG Entertainment that ultimately formed TREASURE. Eventually, he would end up with Rain Company and was announced as one of the rappers of their upcoming boy group Ciipher in late 2020, earning a feature on CEO RAIN’s “이리루와 (Come Over)” prior to his official debut, alongside the other rappers of the group. KEITA debuted as a member of Ciipher on March 15, 2021 with the single, “I Like You (안꿀려),” with writing credits on all five of the songs on the group’s debut mini-album, 안꿀려 (I Can’t).
In 2023, with Ciipher’s slowed activities, KEITA was announced to be participating on Mnet’s Boys Planet. Though he made it through to the final epsiode, he did not make the final lineup and did not debut in the winning debut group, ZEROBASEONE. However, having recognized his rap talents on the show, rap mentor pH-1 collaborated with Keita on his single, “Metronome,” released in July of 2023.
Later in 2023, KEITA was invited to participate in Jellyfish Entertainment’s project group, EVNNE, alongside other prominent runner-up trainees from Boys Planet from WAKEONE Entertainment and Yue Hua Entertainment. In September 2023, KEITA made his second debut with EVNNE with the single, “TROUBLE.”
