Kato is a guitarist and producer from Nairobi, Kenya. His self-directed style draws from a heritage of African music as well as Blues and Jazz. Kato’s debut album ‘The Change Experience’, is a collaborative journey, with each artist sharing a unique perspective on creating music.

He has performed in festival around Africa, Europe, USA and Brazil. He was the guitarist, MD and producer for Brazilian artist, Luedji Luna’s album ‘Bom Mesmo’ (2020) which has been nominated for a 2021 Latin Grammy. He was lead guitarist in African projects; Tusker Project Fame and 5 seasons of Coke Studio Africa, during this time Kato played and recorded for Salif Keita, Seun Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Neyo, Trey Songz, Aloe Blacc, Yemi Alade, Jason Derulo and Burna boy among others.
