About Kajagoogoo

Formed in 1978, British New Wave band Kajagoogoo (the name comes from an altered spelling of “gagagoogoo”, a baby’s first sounds) are best known for their 1983 UK #1 single, “Too Shy”, but for little else. After spending two weeks at the top of the charts, the band experienced a significant decline in popularity. The album White Feathers reached #5 in the UK album charts, but, following the dismissal of lead singer Limahl, Kajagoogoo disappeared off the map, and their next album, Islands peaked at a disappointing #35.

The band split up in December 1985, but they briefly reunited in 2003, although this also failed. Nick Beggs, Steve Askew and Stuart Neale tried again in 2007 and released one album, Gone to the Moon, in 2008.
