Joshua Taylor Bassett (born December 22, 2000) is an American singer, dancer, and actor. He was born in Oceanside, California. Starting at the age of seven, Joshua has performed in over thirty musical theatre productions, and acted in numerous commercials and short films. He is currently starring in the Disney+ original series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as Ricky Bowen. On March 27, 2020, Warner Records officially announced Bassett had signed a recording deal with them. Following this announcement, on April 3, 2020, Bassett released his debut single, titled “Common Sense”. The third single for his self-titled EP, “Lie Lie Lie”, went viral due to rumors that the song was about his High School Musical co-star and alleged ex-girlfriend, Olivia Rodrigo.
