Josh Calhoun was born and raised in Smalltown, Wisconsin, where he was introduced to Jesus and music. In 2004, while attending Judson University, he and his brother Ben Calhoun started a group named The Least of These, which would later become known as Citizen Way. Josh was known for providing vocals, guitar, and keys in the band: plus, he has been a co-author for some of their most successful songs, such as “Bulletproof” and “How Sweet the Sound”.
After touring with Citizen Way for several years, in 2016 Josh decided to leave the band and step away from full-time touring to spend more time with his family and his community, as he has been serving as the Creative Arts Director at Central Christian Church in Beloit, Wisconsin.
In 2019, Josh decided to release his debut solo album, named The a Sides + the B Sides, which even features Josh’s own version of his former band Citizen Way’s song, “How Sweet the Sound”.
In 2020, following the troubles brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, Josh has partnered with his brother Ben to lead a non-profit fundraising campaign for artists, known as Generosity Rocks. He also helps to lead JetFeather, an artist house that assists songwriters.
