Idaho musician Jordan Thornquest maps his mindstate with theatrical relish, producing a form of punk-informed power pop that’s both candidly introspective and fearlessly extroverted. Though his vocal curlicues resemble those of Destroyer’s Dan Bejar, he’s rarely cryptic, singing about his hopes, fears, desires, and hang-ups with a panache that’s just a little bit perverse. In addition to his own music, Thornquest was a member of now-defunt power-pop band Mains & Monitors, whose Kalani came out in late 2018. He also works with his Mains & Monitors bandmate Eli Stonemets' solo project Backyard Universe. In 2019, he was an active member of now-defunct Boise group King and Queen of the Losers.
