About Jordan Rakei

Jordan Rakei (born May 23, 1992) is a singer, songwriter, and producer who grew up in Brisbane, Australia. He moved to London in 2014 to collaborate with some of his online friends after feeling that he needed some change. Some notable collaborations of his include Tom Misch and Disclosure, though he has featured on songs with REMI, FKJ, and Joyner Lucas as well.

Jordan started releasing music in the early 2010s, with his oldest release on Bandcamp being the Franklin’s Room EP. Since then, he has released four full length albums and three EPs along with a deluxe version of 2019’s Origin. He released his newest album, Late Night Tales: Jordan Rakei, in 2021.

On Jordan’s website he describes his music as having a “soulful, jazz, and hiphop-driven sound.” Many of his lyrics are poetic and prompt reflection of feelings as well as life and the world we live in, such as those on “Mad World”, “Nerve”, and “Signs.”
