Jordan Cooper is from Kew Gardens in Queens, New York. He began writing songs around 1999 while in high school. He has written almost 300 songs and performed live as a solo act, and with the bands Trouble’s Afoot and Sally. He has also created countless instrumental pieces, and has worked as a composer for hire on short films, television, and podcasts.
In January 2017, Jordan scored the music for “No More Excuses,” a big song and dance segment on The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, currently with over 4.7 million YouTube views.
In 2018, a song Jordan created for Scott Aukerman and Adam Scott’s podcast R U Talkin’ REM RE: Me? was played about a dozen times over the course of the year. His Plugs Theme has also been featured on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast.
In 2018, a theme song Jordan composed for Dan Harmon (Community, Rick and Morty) and Jessica Gao’s podcast Whiting Wongs was used as the theme for episode 14.
In 2017, Jordan won the award for Best Music at the NY 48 Hour Film Festival, for the film “G-Cop.”
In June 2014, Jordan won the award for Best Original Song at the NY 48 Hour Film Festival, for the film “Ham For The Holidays.”
In June 2011, chosen among 60 films, Jordan won the award for Best Musical Score at the NY 48 Hour Film Festival, for the film “Trixaxis and Allies.”
In 2010 Jordan created the website WriteASongAboutMe.com, where customers can order songs written and recorded about them or a loved one. So far he has made over 40 songs through this service.
For most of 2010 he was part of the live band for Kevin Allison’s (“The State”) RISK! live show at the 92Y Tribeca, as well as one of the top contributors of music for the RISK! Podcast. The show featured comedians such as Janeane Garofalo, Rachel Dratch, and Michael Showalter.
