Jonathan Manalo grew up in a musically-inclined family. He started singing and writing songs professionally before he reached the age of 13.

At that very young age, he started writing Gospel songs for Papuri!. Since 2001, he has been winning awards as a songwriter, producer, singer, and vocal arranger. One of them is “Tara Tena,” which won grand prize in the ABS-CBN JAM Himig Handog sa Makabagong Kabataan contest. The song was eventually used as title and theme music of a youth oriented TV program that year.

Jonathan also emerged as one of the major winners in the 8th Metropop Songwriting Festival for his entry “Buti Na Lang,” interpreted by Kyla.

Currently an in-house record producer/ composer and A&R Head of Star Recording Inc., Jonathan has produced more than 25 multi-platinum albums and over 50 gold certified albums for pop singers Gary Valenciano, Jaya, Charice, and many others.
