Jonas Bjerre is a musician and visual artist from Copenhagen, Denmark, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of Danish alternative rock band Mew. He is also a member of European supergroup Apparatjik, and has composed film and television soundtracks. He is known for having an unusually high pitched singing voice.
In addition to music, Bjerre works in visual arts and animation. He creates backdrop animations for Mew’s songs that are displayed during concerts. Before pursuing music as a primary career, Bjerre worked in post-production. He has directed videos for Mew, Apparatjik, and other artists including A-Ha and Agnes Obel.
