Jokke med Tourettes was a sequel band of-sorts to Jokke & Valentinerne, being formed by front-man Joachim Nielsen with mostly new members in 1997, three years after Valentinerne disbanded. The band continued the classic rock and pop-rock influenced sound that was experimented with in later Jokke & Valentinerne albums.
They released two studio albums, and were in the process of recording a third when Joachim tragically passed away from a heroin overdose in the year 2000. After his death, Valentinerne and Tourettes joined forces to create the tribute band Valentourettes, performing songs from both bands.
