“Johnny & the Hurricanes” were an American instrumental rock band from Toledo, Ohio, formed by Johnny Paris (Saxophone) in 1958 with members Paul Tesluk (Hammond Chord organ), Dave Yorko (guitar), Lionel “Butch” Mattice (bass), and Bill “Little Bo” Savich (drums). Their 1958 recording of the traditional song “Red River Rock” became a top ten hit on both sides of the Atlantic and sold over a million copies.
