Johnny Mercer remains one of the greatest American lyricists and songwriters, writing the lyrics to more than 1,500 songs. Born into a prominent Southern family, his biggest hits include “Moon River”, “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive”, “One for My Baby (and One More for the Road)”, and “Something’s Gotta Give”. Over the course of his forty-year career, he won eighteen nominations and four Academy Awards for “Best Original Song”.
