John McLean is an English reggae singer who specialises in lovers rock.
McLean was born in the Hammersmith district of West London. As a teenager, he sang with the Black Star Liner sound system. In 1987, his debut single “If I Give My Heart to You” topped the UK’s reggae singles chart; since then, McLean has released some 30 singles more. Among his albums are Bowled Over (1989), Men Are Lovers Too (1994), and 1997’s Ceasefire (a collaboration with Dego Ranks).
