John Leckie is a British record producer. He started his career in the late 1960s as a tape op at Abbey Road Studios. He later became one of their in-house sound engineers – and was present for sessions for Pink Floyd and George Harrison.
By the end of the 1970s he offered his services as a freelance record producer, becoming one of the most sought-after producers in the UK by the end of the 1990s. He often – but not always – works with guitar bands signed to independent labels.
He has produced bands such as The Stone Roses, The Verve, Radiohead, and Muse.
