This 60s group had a number one hit with “Judy in Disguise (with Glasses),” in 1968. It is a mondegreen and parody of the famous Beatles song, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”

Their leader, John Fred, was just 15-years-old when the band formed in 1956. They were originally called “John Fred & the Playboys,” but changed their name by 1967, so as not to to be confused with Gary Lewis & the Playboys.
