John Fred

John Fred Gourrier (May 8, 1941—April 14, 2005) was a blue-eyed soul, R&B and ‘swamp pop’ singer-songwriter from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is best known as leader of the 60s group, John Fred and His Playboy Band. They had a #1 hit in 1968 with “Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)”—a play on “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” by The Beatles.
