Having a prominent role at Atlantic Records before founding imprints like 32 Records and Hyena Records, he helped launch the careers of pop stars such as Bette Midler and Peter Allen. He also collaborated with prominent jazz artists like Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Max Roach, and Yuseef Lateef.
