Joel Cox is a vocalist, keyboardist and producer. He founded the rock band called The Crash Years in 2010 on his own, but eventually started gathering members. The band released 4 EPs and one album. In 2015, The Crash Years separated.

Two years later, he announced that, with former The Crash Years member Tyler Brantley, he would be doing a pop project called Twin Tides. They began releasing two singles before putting out their EP All These Songs, All About Her.

In late 2018, it was announced that The Crash Years would continue and the band put out the single “Golden”, which would be the first of many songs to come.
