Blues singer and guitarist in the songster tradition, born October 10, 1900 in Nesbit, Mississippi, where he lived all his days.
Callicott (also spelled Calicott) made one 78 for Brunswick in 1930, and also accompanied his friend Garfield Akers on a 78 recorded in 1929. He was rediscovered by the field recorder George Mitchell in 1967, and enjoyed a celebrated comeback until his death in 1969.
