Jim Stewart (Born July 29th, 1930) was born in Middleton, Tennessee. He is known for his prolific work as a record producer and for co-founding Stax Records with his sister, Estelle Axton (Stax taking the first two initials of their last names, STewart and AXton). Once Stax went bankrupt in 1976, Stewart kept a low profile and profusely protected his privacy. Because of his contributions to music, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. He sent his granddaughter Jennifer to the ceremony to accept the award.
