James Horton Stack, best known by his artistic alias Jim-E Stack, is an American producer, best known for his melancholy and experimental club music. His bass-heavy dance tracks often feature chopped-up R&B vocal samples and wistful melodies juxtaposed with aggressive beats and drum patterns.
A drummer since his youth, he started producing hip-hop beats in 2008; eventually the sounds of U.K. grime and Baltimore club crept their way into his productions. He is perhaps known for his collaborations with Caroline Polachek, HAIM, Charli XCX, Kacy Hill, and Diplo.
