About Jibbs

Jovan Camaran Campbell (born November 13, 1990) is a rapper from St. Louis, Missouri known better by his alias Jibbs.

He began rapping to impress his older brother DJ Beatz, whose profile was on the rise with his work for fellow St. Louis artists as part of the production duo Da Beatstaz. Jibbs' persistence paid off, with him earning his brother’s attention and soon becoming a signee to Geffen Records while still in his teens.

Upon his signing to the label, Jibbs' debut single “Chain Hang Low” was released in the summer of 2006 and became his biggest hit to date, achieving Platinum certification and being the most downloaded song for the month of August the same year. His debut album Jibbs feat. Jibbs would follow on October 24, 2006, containing “Chain Hang Low” and three more singles: “King Kong,” “Go Too Far” and “Smile.”

Jibbs has since released a few less-noticed efforts such as the mixtape Round One in 2009, which contained the singles “The Dedication (Ay DJ)” and “J Walk,” his second mixtape Round Two in 2010, and the pop-trap song “Runnin Thru 100” in 2016 for a project titled Ten Years Later that has failed to materialize.
