About Jemini the Gifted One

Jemini the Gifted One is an underground rapper from Brooklyn, NYC, primarily active in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. He is well known for his distinctive rapping style – exemplified by the Jekyll and Hyde like nature of ‘Funk Soul Sensation’ (which was produced by Organized Konfusion) – that combines a boom-bap style with a more soft-spoken ‘soul’ style.

His main underground release in the 90’s was 1995’s ‘Scars and Pain’ which is notable for being promo-only and also totaling out at just 7 tracks (and which had ‘Funk Soul Sensation’ as its lead single). He followed this up with a number of singles, such as ‘Who Wanna Step 2 Dis’ and ‘I.M.C.U.D.O.N.T.’, which were released in the later 90’s. Today he is well known for having paired with Danger Mouse on 2003’s ‘Ghetto Pop Life’, appearing on that album as simply Jemini.

Today he goes by the seemingly unrelated name, Big City IHB.
