About Jellyfish

Formed in 1989 by founding members Andy Sturmer (lead vocals and percussion), Roger Manning (keyboard and vocals), Jason Falkner (guitars, bass, and vocals), and Chris Manning (bass and vocals), Jellyfish is a rock band well known for their eccentric and anachronistic blend of genres – their albums often serving as a strange synthesis of psychedelic rock, power pop, and chamber pop, with even a few nods to more traditional strains of 90s rock – in addition to their prodigal musical proficiency. In 1994, the band split only five years after its formation, due both to interpersonal tension as well as the band’s lack of mass appeal in the Grunge era, but they managed to release two full length albums in that time, Bellybutton (1990) and Spilt Milk (1993).
