Blending elements of doo-wop, dub, jazz, pop and neo soul in her work, the protégé of Missy Elliott, got her start in music as a contralto in a children’s choir, then a few years later in an adult choir. She has written songs for Christina Milian, Jennifer Hudson, Tamia, Monica and Fantasia.
