JAYDA was born as Janelle Amanda Loyola Avanzado in the Philippines on June 1, 2003, to Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado – two of the biggest music icons in the country.

Avanzado uses the name JAYDA as her stage name due to it being her nickname, as well as the name her mother originally wanted to name her after seeing Jada Pinkett Smith’s name credited in a movie, as explained by Jessa Zaragoza during a mukbang Q&A.

Jayda had always been interested in music, as she is able to play the piano and the guitar. By age 9, she had performed her very first concert with a live band on her birthday, and later, wrote her first song at the age of 12.

In 2018, JAYDA debuted under ABS-CBN with the self composed track “Text”, which would later be included in her debut EP In My Room, released the same year.
