Jason has served as Kelly Clarkson’s music director and keyboardist since Clarkson, was named the first-ever American Idol. Halbert is also music director for the hit syndicated daytime show “The Kelly Clarkson Show” (NBCU).
Jason has toured the globe serving as Clarkson’s music director and keyboardist since 2003. Through the years, Halbert has produced and penned some of Clarkson’s most popular anthems about love, loss and finding strength, including tracks from her record-breaking Grammy Award-winning album ‘Stronger;’ the top 10 hit ‘Catch My Breath,’ which they co-wrote together; ‘Piece By Piece,’ the “American Idol” version, which he produced; and ‘Christmas Eve,’ which he produced and co-wrote with Clarkson.
Halbert also arranged Clarkson’s most notable live specials and performances, includingSuper Bowl XLVI; President Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2013; her hit-packed medleys at the 2018 and 2019 Billboard Music Awards and Clarkson’s opening ceremony performance at the 2018 U.S. Open. Halbert is part of the creative team behind Clarkson’s popular ‘Kellyoke,’ a concept that originated on tour and became a featured segment on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
In addition to his work with Kelly, Jason has also worked with Billy Ray Cyrus, Tori Kelly, Reba McEntire, Nick Carter, Lady Gaga, Jordan Smith, Clay Aiken, Justin Guarini and more.
