Jamie Lynn Marie Spears (born April 4, 1991) is an American singer and actress born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. She is best known for starring on Nickelodeon’s All That (2002-2004) and as Zoey Brooks on the Nickelodeon teen sitcom, Zoey 101 (2005-2008). She is also the younger sister of Britney Spears.
She started her acting career in early 2002 in the coming-of-age teen drama film, Crossroads, as she played the younger version of her sister’s character, Lucy Wagner.
She became the subject of controversy and significant media attention in late 2007 after announcing via OK! Magazine that she was pregnant at the age of 16, which would effectively send her career into a hiatus.
She began her music career after singing the theme song to Zoey 101, “Follow Me”, which was co-written by her sister. In 2014, Spears released her first EP titled The Journey, which spawned its lead and only single, “How Could I Want More”.
She is currently starring in the American romance drama Netflix series, Sweet Magnolias, as Noreen Fitzgibbons, as of 2020.
