James Poyser

James Poyser (born January 30, 1967) is an English-born American multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, pianist, producer from Philadelphia, PA, member of the hip hop band The Roots.

During his career, Poyser has written or produced songs for the likes of Erykah Badu, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Lauryn Hill, Common, Anthony Hamilton and D'Angelo.

Poyser has also toured or session musician with JAY-Z, Aretha Franklin, Adele, Norah Jones, Eric Clapton, Ziggy Marley, among the others.
