Hailing from The Hague, The Netherlands, James Burki is a band that combines a modern pop sensibility, 80’s synthesizers and a traditional rock outfit to produce upbeat and catchy yet authentic indie-rock songs, reminiscent of bands like The 1975, The Night Game, and The Band CAMINO.
Throughout their debut EP, Dreaming, these influences can be heard. Fan favourite and leading track ‘Brother, We’re Here to Dance’ shows a more band-influenced, rock sound, while a track like ‘High With Me’ represents a clear picture of an 80’s sound being mashed together with a modern pop song.
James Burki has performed at acclaimed Dutch festivals such as Parkpop, Eurosonic Noorderslag and The Life I Live. Getting support from Dutch national radio station 3FM, and with huge plans for the future, James Burki are set to make a name for themselves in the alternative scene.
