You may not be familiar with the face yet, but you have definitely heard the awkward (although fitting) tag of producer JabariOnTheBeat. It’s yelled almost always just before the beat drops and is quickly becoming a tag that holds weight in the producer community.
Jabari Nkosi Voss (born August 11, 1999), better known as JabariOnTheBeat, is a record producer based out of (and from) Brooklyn, New York. He expressed an interest in music later than most and decided he wanted to produce for a living during his last year of high school. Like many bedroom producers, he took to YouTube to start selling beats, generating income, and gaining attention.
After graduating high school, Jabari attended college for approximately one semester on a full-tuition scholarship, and then community college for one month before dropping out to do music full-time and dedicating all his time to production.
In the span of roughly a year, he has worked with many major rappers and rap legends, while also amassing a considerable following/fanbase on YouTube. Although he is still young and his name is still fresh in the industry, Jabari is a force to be reckoned with. Multiple high-profile artists and characters have come through his YouTube page alone to use his work (such as Phora, and Jim Jones.)
Currently, his production credits include the likes of A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Polo G, Lil Tjay, 2KBABY, Nines, Deno, Mozzy, Ty Dolla $ign, Bizzy Banks, J.I., Melvoni, Stunna Gambino, Ron Suno and many more.
Additionally, Jabari is also well known for his extensive catalog (spanning 7 albums and 1 EP currently) with Toronto-based artist sewerperson.
Jabari is RIAA Gold and Platinum certified as of January 2023.
Through his substantial catalog abroad, and within his own hometown, “JabariOnTheBeat!” may soon become a household tag.
