Swedish rapper Joshua Cole started rapping in 2016 at the age of 17 under the name “Young Lazy” on SoundCloud.
In the same year, he collaborated with Swedish rapper, producer and friend Azide for the song “FLEXGANG” which would go on to become his first big success, amassing over 1.4 Million streams. From this point on, Cole started using the name J Swey and working together with Azide for most of his songs.
In early 2017, Azide and J Swey published one of their most successful songs “God & the Devil” and their first album Xelfmade, which recieved a lot of positive feedback due to it’s unique combination of trap and rap. The two published three albums as duo in the following three years.
Starting 2019, J Swey published more songs on his own, rapping in a different and partly more serious tone, like in “Frequency”.
The songs “Xelfmade” and “Getting My Dough,” published by Azide and J Swey in 2020, gained a lot of attention due to their heavy use on TikTok and in Fortnite Compilations, which lead them to becoming their most famous songs.
